Author of nine suspense novels and CommuterLit alumni Hannah Mary McKinnon Interviews her characters as part of her writing process. She has graciously allowed CommuterLit to share the questions she asks. It’s quite detailed and goes far beyond name, age and job title. Sample questions include:
1. Can you describe a representative memory from your character’s childhood?
2. When was your character last scared, and what were they scared of?
3. What is the most important thing your character has forgotten?
4. When did your character last cry, and why?
