FRIDAY NOTES & NEWS: Four more days until Poetry Week submission deadline

YOU HAVE four more days to submit your poetry! The submission deadline for our Poetry Week 2023 is end-of-day (EDT) Monday, April 17. This year our annual poetry week (April 24-28) contest will award cash prizes to the writers of the five winning entries.

The first-place winner, whose work will lead off the week on Monday, April 24, will be awarded CA$100. The second-place winner will receive CA$50, while the three runner ups will receive CA$25 each. Winnings will be paid via PayPal.

You can enter more than once, but only one poem (or series of thematically linked poems) is allowed per entry. The maximum word count per entry is 700. A small fee of CA$3 per entry will be charged to cover admin work, and hopefully build up a sustainable pot of prize money for future contests — including Flash Fiction Week, Halloween Scary Story Week, and Valentines Love Story/Poetry Week.

Submit via the Poetry Week 2023 portal on Submittable.
