My life gets better
by the splash, the breaching head,
the fluke, the size, the grace,
of Cetus.
It reaches new frontiers
as the boat enters the feeding grounds,
the watery realm of giants,
behind, before, below,
within.
Having come this way,
there’s no point
falling back on something
the whale can’t do.
