FRIDAY: So Much Danger

There is so much danger
lurking brazenly
in the lush womb
of ordinary light.

Truth
is danger
and suffering
and animal pain
and death.

There is little or nothing
that is friendly
in the ordinary light.
Perhaps only the knock-knock
of drying clothes,
or the monotony of corporeal motion,
a clicking of  muscle
over and over and over.

And I know
that you are
the best person
I have ever known.

You are danger, too.
You will free me
into a sentient whiteness,
a glare of unstoppable emotion,
and I will give you up.

I will live with danger.
I will sleep with danger
and I will be a slave
to the blur
of your passing.
