Lunar Haiku

Sturgeon moon so full
Centre of cloudy night sky
Awesome in brilliance

Parched

Corn
Peaked and dry
Drought
Leaves sparse harvest

Haiku on a Great Lake

Sunset on Huron
Orange and red and yellow
Melts in horizon

Malingerer?

Tiny green hummingbird
Hovers near petunias
Summer takes flight

Food for Thought

When crab-apples fall
do Canada geese hear the sound?
Methinks they do
as I gaze at flock in neighbour’s yard.
Little red apples disappear.

Haiku on first snow

white icing sugar
crisp cinnamon leaves on deck
morn’ so delicious
