Laurel Karry

Laurel Karry grew up in corn country, Southwestern Ontario. She received an Honours English and French degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, ON, taught for just over a decade, and has been writing full-time ever since.

Her poem entitled, “Mindful”, is published in the Northern Initiatives for Social Action anthology, In New Light: The many paths of identity, struggle and mental illness. One of her postcard stories, “Her Mother Calls Her Carol,” is published in Hamilton’s Literary Journal, Street.

Laurel was granted enrolment at The Banff Centre with Arthur Slade, Governor General Award Winning YA author. She is currently working on a second YA novel.
