For Donna Rozak, retiring meant enough time to write — a childhood dream — short stories and novels. She has completed a 65,000-word non-fiction book about her mother’s family who had careers with the Hudson’s Bay Company for more than 100 years.
Family members built the fort and buildings for the Red River Settlement and then managed fur trading posts in northern Manitoba.
Donna is currently looking for an agent and publisher for the book.
She has written hundreds of short stories and is a voracious reader. She’s planning a blog to post her short stories.
Last summer, Donna took the leap from living in Toronto and area for all of her life to
moving to the small town of Simcoe southeast of Brantford, near Lake Erie. She loves it there and the beauty of the area has inspired more writing.
