Kaarina Stiff grew up in Toronto and earned a diploma in print journalism from Centennial College. After a brief stint as a staff writer for a chain of community newspapers, she returned to school and graduated from Carleton University (Bachelor of Arts, History and Political Science) and the University of Waterloo (Master of Environmental Studies).
