David Koulack took early retirement (he taught psychology at the University of Manitoba) in order to write full time. His columns have appeared in The London Sunday Times, The Guardian and The Globe and Mail, among others. His fiction and creative nonfiction work has been published in such journals as Geist, The Dalhousie Review, The Antigonish Review and Matrix.

Kaarina Stiff grew up in Toronto and earned a diploma in print journalism from Centennial College. After a brief stint as a staff writer for a chain of community newspapers, she returned to school and graduated from Carleton University (Bachelor of Arts, History and Political Science) and the University of Waterloo (Master of Environmental Studies). For the past 13 years she has toiled in various government offices, and now writes for pleasure in her spare time. She lives in Ottawa.
