Bhattacharya, Susmita

Plymouth, U.K.-based Susmita Bhattacharya grew up in India, which inspires and informs most of her short stories and poetry. Her work has been published in anthologies and journals in the U.K. and in India. She has an MA in Creative Writing and runs writing workshops in her community. She’s travelled on oil tanker ships with her husband for three years and will write about her sea adventures one day. She’s written her first novel in between having two lovely girls. Kaarina Stiff grew up in Toronto and earned a diploma in print journalism from Centennial College. After a brief stint as a staff writer for a chain of community newspapers, she returned to school and graduated from Carleton University (Bachelor of Arts, History and Political Science) and the University of Waterloo (Master of Environmental Studies). For the past 13 years she has toiled in various government offices, and now writes for pleasure in her spare time. She lives in Ottawa.
