Yin, Anna

Anna Yin was born in China and immigrated to Canada in 1999. Though she majored in Computer Science and works as an IT professional, she loves poetry. In 2005, her poem There Must be Something won the Ted Plantos Memorial Award from The Ontario Poets Society (TOPS). Seeds of a Bailout was first published in Tough Time anthology in 2010. CBC Radio interviewed her and aired her poem Toronto, No More Weeping. In 2006, she was selected as “CFP (Canadian Federation of Poets) Feature Poet.” In 2007, her works in translation were in a Canadian Studies’ textbook used by Humber College. She won the Emerging Literary Arts Award at the 2010 MARTY Awards, given by the Mississauga (Ontario) Arts Council. Her new poetry book Wings Towards Sunlight will be published by Mosaic Press in Spring 2011.
