Leslie Wakeman has been writing since childhood. An educator, she contributed to a collaborative non-fiction chapter for an undergraduate text on teaching for climate action that will be published by Canadian Scholars in Spring 2022. She is currently working on two novels of realistic and historical fiction. Woven into a blended family, she lives with her partner, son, and charismatic orange tabby by the ancient Winnipeg River and Boreal Forest on Treaty One Territory in Eastern Manitoba. Provoked by the real and imagined, Leslie grips fast to the idea that stories make us better.
