Shaffer, R. W.

R. W. Shaffer wants his readers to be entertained and surprised. His stories often exemplify a jagged fault line between what is expected and what happens. He wants to live in a world where people are unafraid to question social, cultural, economic, and emotional boundaries.

He is a retired educator who majored in Creative Writing a long time ago, was a counselor in a prison, a former long-distance truck driver, and comments regularly to major newspapers on political, social and educational issues.

When he’s not writing he stares at his bird feeders, listens to Spotify and wishes his neighbors would stop mowing their grass. He lives in Johnstown, Pa.
