Jacqueline Owens is an author and screenwriter, and makes a living writing safety advice for the aviation industry.
She lives in Wellington, New Zealand, with past lives in London (working for the New Zealand government), Los Angeles (gaining a Master of Fine Arts in Screenwriting from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television), the Japanese countryside (teaching English in Japanese high schools) and Tokyo (promoting New Zealand products).
She had a young adult novel based on her experiences living in rural Japan, Bluest Moon, published in the 90s in New Zealand. She won a manuscript assessment for her manuscript After the Encore from the New Zealand Society of Authors, and an excerpt of this novel in progress was published by online literary journal Litbreak.
Recent screenplays have been a finalist and won the New Zealand Writers Guild best unproduced screenplay award and been quarterfinalists in the Nicholl and Blue Cat Screenplay competitions.
